Practice a conversation

ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini can play the other person in a practice conversation. Use a fictional situation.

Play a cautious potential client. Ask me one question at a time. Let me answer. After five exchanges, tell me where I listened well and where I pushed too hard. Do not invent product claims.

Trade: practice a discovery call with a buyer, client, or coaching prospect. Direct Sales: practice asking permission to share information, answering a question honestly, and accepting a no.

Research before reaching out

Use a web-search-enabled assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude, or Perplexity. Ask for public business information, dated sources, and links you can open yourself.

Using public sources, summarize this company’s services and recent announcements. Link each source and date. Separate verified facts from guesses. Suggest three respectful questions to ask.

Open the sources. Check names and dates. Do not ask the assistant to infer private personal details or paste confidential prospect records.

Save your personal voice guide

Write a short guide: who you help, your tone, three phrases you use, phrases to avoid, and one real writing sample you have permission to share. Leave out private client information.
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Personalization → Custom Instructions. Paste the short guide and save. In Claude, create a Project and add the guide to its instructions. In Gemini, create a Gem and paste the guide into its instructions. Availability and labels can change.
If those settings are unavailable, save your guide as a text file and paste it at the start of each conversation. Ask the assistant to follow it for that chat.
Test with one short message. Read it aloud, correct what sounds wrong, and update your guide. AI drafts. You decide.
